Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

ChibyooAlarm ("we", "our", "the app") is developed by Chibyoo, an independent developer. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.

By using ChibyooAlarm, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Data You Provide

  • Nickname and avatar — set voluntarily in your profile
  • Date of birth — used solely to determine your zodiac sign for the optional horoscope feature
  • Barcodes and NFC tags — stored locally on your device

2.2 Data Collected Automatically

  • Device identifier (Install ID) — a randomly generated anonymous identifier stored on your device. Used to identify your device for security verification (App Attest) and optional social features. This identifier is not linked to your Apple ID or personal identity.
  • Wake-up statistics — time of alarm dismissal, mission completion time, snooze count. If you enable Global Stats or Wake-up Partners, aggregated anonymous statistics are sent to our server.
  • Alarm schedule — alarm time and weekdays, sent to our server only if Wake-up Partners is enabled.
  • Crash reports and diagnostics — collected via Firebase Crashlytics to improve app stability.
  • App launch events — anonymous telemetry to understand general usage patterns.

2.3 Health Data

  • Sleep data — read from Apple Health (HealthKit) with your permission. Used only to display sleep statistics within the app. This data is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.

2.4 Location Data

  • Approximate city — determined via your IP address using the ipapi.co service when you open the Morning screen. This is used solely to fetch local weather. We do not store your IP address or precise location. You can manually set your city in the app to avoid this.
  • If you grant location permission, your device's GPS coordinates are used to fetch weather via Apple WeatherKit. Location data is not stored or transmitted to our servers.

We do not sell your data to any third party.

5. Data Storage

  • Local data (alarms, barcodes, NFC tags, wake logs, sleep data) is stored on your device and, if you enable iCloud Sync, in your private iCloud database.
  • Server data (anonymous wake statistics, alarm schedule for Partners) is stored on our server at chibyoo.com.
  • Your data is retained as long as you use the app. You can delete all data at any time via Settings → Data & Reset.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties except:

  • Service providers listed in Section 4 (only to the extent necessary to provide the service)
  • If required by law or legal process

If you enable Wake-up Partners, your anonymous user code and aggregated wake statistics are visible to your friends within the app.

7. Children's Privacy

ChibyooAlarm is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you
  • Delete your data — via Settings → Data & Reset, or by contacting us
  • Opt out of analytics — by disabling Global Stats and Wake-up Partners in Settings
  • Withdraw consent for Health data — via iOS Settings → Privacy → Health → ChibyooAlarm

9. Security

We use Apple's App Attest framework to verify that requests to our server come from genuine ChibyooAlarm installations. Data transmission is encrypted via HTTPS.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
